FULL-TIME FIREFIGHTER: The City of Big Rapids is accepting applications for the position of full-time Firefighter. Applicants must possess a FF II Training Council Certificate and a Michigan Medical First Responder license or higher. Applicants must be able to pass an entry-level written test, physical agility test and have a valid Michigan Driver’s License.
In a major victory for the IAFF, as part of an omnibus spending package to fund the government through next year, Congress approved a two-year delay of the Cadillac tax: a 40 percent tax on high-cost health plans that was scheduled to take effect in 2018.

There may be a fee for the exam; results of testing will be accepted by all participating fire departments in MI. You must apply and pass the test by 1/8/16 to be eligible in Shelby Township.
Fire Fighter/Paramedic

Qualifications
Certification as a State of Michigan Advanced Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic within six months of employment. Must become ACLS certified within one year of date of hire; must attend ACLS class as scheduled by EMS Coordinator.
