Brothers and Sisters As you may know, we are working hard to draw attention to the fact that the Legislature and Governor have failed to provide funding for our Cancer Presumption Legislation.  Our hope is that with enough media coverage and social media sharing, the legislature will provide the necessary funding to help our brothers and sisters stricken with duty related cancers.

The application period for Fiscal Year 2015 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grants is expected to open in March 2016. The IAFF urges affiliates to work with their fire chiefs and local lawmakers to file for the grant.

Yesterday was an historic day for GLFF L5086, This new local's first Executive Board, took the IAFF oath of Office, Pictured below is President Bill Parker, Vice-President Scott Sheehan, Secretary Jay Morse, Treasurer Pete Stern.

Registration information is now available for the 52nd Biennial Michigan Professional Fire Fighters Union Convention.  The Convention is being held at the Edward Village Hotel in Dearborn on May 3,4,5, 2016.

On Wednesday, February 17th  there is a Charity Benefit Concert to be held in Novi, Michigan at The Diamond Center at Suburban Collection Showplace. Our stated goal is to raise at least $20,000 for the Rodeman’s. We are using a system called TicketSpice to act as the 1-page website and ticket sales for this exciting event to benefit Kate Rodeman and her unborn child.
