Cancer Presumption Updates

The House Appropriations Committee just approved 3 million to fund our cancer presumption fund!!!!! We now have both the senate and house approving the same amount for next year's budget. Now they both have to give final approval in the floor and then on to the governor. Another big step forward to finally protecting our fire fighters.
House Appropriations approves $3 million for firefighter cancer coverage
Firefighters rallied in Lansing earlier this year, pushing for cancer coverage they were promised by the state more than a year ago.

Minimum requirements shall be but are not limited to: high school graduate, minimum age 18. Preference will be given to applicants with an Associate degree, or adequate experience as a fire fighter/paramedic, as determined by the City, may substitute for the Associate Degree.
