Oct. 10, 2013: The Michigan Court of Appeals is hearing Mayor Jeffrey Lamarand’s federal fire grant case today — a year after he lost it in Wayne County Circuit Court. Judge Prentis Edwards ruled against Lamarand in the summer of 2012 and in favor of a City Council resolution that directed the mayor to accept a two-year, $8.1 million fire safety package called a Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response grant.
