Nov, 26, 2013: The number of police officers has been cut from 68 to 46, while the number of firefighters has been cut from 43 to 26 over the course of 10 years. Two of the city's fire stations have been shuttered since 2011. The city was awarded a $1.88 million SAFER Grant to hire nine additional firefighters in 2012. That grant is set to expire next year.
