April 16, 2014: William Ede Jr., 75, recently returned to Sterling Heights Fire Station No. 5 to thank the heroes who saved his life when he suffered full cardiopulmonary arrest Feb. 13. April 10, 2014: As call volume has grown during the past five years, Washington Township Fire Chief Brian Tyrell said his staff has become overwhelmed when it comes to dispatching firefighters and EMS crews. The problem will be rectified as of June 1 with the approval of a new dispatch agreement with the Oakland County Sheriff's Office dispatch center, approved by the Washington Township Board of Trustees at its April 2 meeting. April 7, 2014: The flashy, grand prize is the same, but there’s a twist. A 2014 Chevrolet Camaro SS convertible is big draw for the Dearborn Firefighters Burn Drive’s annual Burn Drive Car Raffle, which will be April 29.
