We do so by remembering and honoring those that lost their lives on 9/11/01, including 19 with Michigan connections, and by celebrating and thanking the brave men and women across Michigan who protect and serve our local communities and the nation on a daily basis. The Farmington Hills Fire Fighters Association/IAFF Local 2659 has a new three-year contract that will expire June 30, 2017. Firefighters will receive a 2-percent pay increase in each of the three years of the contract. Other provisions include creating a staff lieutenant position to replace the position of assistant to the fire chief, and to have four station sergeant positions at the non-headquarter stations on a 10-hour/four day schedule. Also, probationary sergeant pay will be $65,000 and increased to $67,000 following completion of a probationary period. Changes were also made to funeral leaves. (Observer & Eccentric)
