Brothers and sisters,

I would first like to thank everyone that came out to our rally today.  We had a huge turn out and they did a tremendous job.  We had a couple hundred fire fighters attend.  After the rally/press conference everyone went inside the senate gallery and stayed there until they answered us.  We were not leaving and they knew that. 

And the best part, we were SUCCESSFUL in getting it passed.

The Senate has agreed to immediately fund one million into this year’s First Responder Fund  and three million into next year’s budget.  Now the next step is to get the house to confirm that and then send it to the Governor.  We will NOT give up until its done.  This was not possible today without the combined effort of this entire union.  This is what unions and the brotherhood are all about.  We stood together and got it done.
