Redford Township to get 3 full-time firefighters and new fire trucks with SAD money

11-Apr-2013: In addition to the two vehicles, the SAD money will also go toward hiring three full-time firefighters and six new police officers. The 4.1-mill levy this year will raise about $2.87 million for just public safety costs. With the additional money, the township will squirrel away $160,000 this fiscal year for future vehicle purchases as well, something it has not done in several years. Read more:
