ALLEN PARK: SAFER grant accepted, with conditions

Nearly two months after being offered a Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response, or SAFER, grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the City Council voted Tuesday to accept it with the condition that the union representing its firefighter sign a memo of understanding the department will lower its daily minimum staffing from seven to five.
