Livonia fire department getting $277,000 grant

The Livonia Fire & Rescue Department is getting federal money to help with operations and safety.

Democratic U.S. Sens. Debbie Stabenow of Lansing and Carl Levin of Detroit this week announced the roughly $277,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

The money from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program is aimed at helping address equipment, training, staffing and other EMS-related needs.
