Situated in the center of Leelanau County, Michigan, Cedar Area Fire & Rescue is a full time, unionized, BLS transport agency which provides fire, rescue and EMS services to approximately 5,500 year-round residents of Centerville, Cleveland, Kasson and Solon Townships.
In addition to protecting the unincorporated villages of Maple City and Cedar, the department responses increase dramatically in the summertime to provide services to the thousands of tourists who visit the area annually.
Fire chief candidates should possess the following:
State of Michigan Firefighter II State of Michigan Fire Officer III State of Michigan Emergency Medical Technician Basic (Paramedic Preferred) State of Michigan Driver’s License National Incident Management System (NIMS) Certified NFA Executive Fire Officer or EMU Fire Staff & Command Graduate Preferred
