Training at the Detroit Fire Academy

The Detroit Fire Training Division will be hosting the Counter Terrorism Operations Support (CTOS) training team for Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) training to first responders. Two courses will be offered: * Personal Radiation Detection Course (PRD) PER-243. This one day course , will be held November 27, 28, 29, 30, and December 1.* WMD Radiological/Nuclear Responder Operations Course (PER-240). Two three day programs will be provided, the first on December 3,5,9. The second class will run December 4,6,10.

A certificate will be issued upon successful completion and all training and course materials are free. Detailed course descriptions and information can be viewed on CTOS web site, www.nv.doe.gov/combatingterrorism.

This programs target audience includes: Fire, Haz Mat, EMS, Law Enforcement, Emergency Management, Public works, Public Health, Other skilled support personnel that provide immediate support services during prevention, response, and recovery operations.

Training space is available on a first come basis. Please contact the Detroit Fire Academy to place your name on the class roster. The Detroit Fire Academy is located at 2775 W. Warren Ave. one block east of I-96.
